Overview

Born from the old Tamar Otter & Wildlife Centre, Willow Tree Café offers fresh, homemade food and a relaxing place to meet – with the bonus of a secure woodland walk for café customers and their dogs to enjoy.

Description

When the much-loved Tamar Otter & Wildlife Centre closed during the pandemic, its loss was felt deeply. But rather than let this beautiful spot fade away, it’s been given a fresh new chapter as the Willow Tree Café and Woodland Walk.

Inside, the café has been completely refurbished to create a warm, welcoming space for both old friends and new faces. The menu is full of freshly made breakfasts, tasty lunches, and indulgent cakes – perfect for a catch-up over coffee or a post-walk treat.

Café customers can also enjoy access to the secure woodland walk, a gentle trail that winds through changing seasonal scenery and is open to all ages – dogs included. Paws are welcome, but we ask they stay on a lead until you’re in the woodland, and that they’re kept under control so everyone can enjoy the space.

Outside, the grounds are slowly being returned to nature, a work in progress that adds to the charm as the land transforms. While the café is for eating and relaxing (not picnicking), it’s a place where good food, friendly faces, and a beautiful woodland stroll make every visit a pleasure.
