Established in 2002 by brothers Lee and Andrew Griffin, Holywell Bay School of Surf stands as the longest-running surf school in the Holywell Bay area. With over 50 years of combined surfing experience, the school is dedicated to providing first-class surf instruction that emphasises safety, technique, and a deep appreciation for the sport. Uniquely situated directly on the beachfront at Holywell Bay, students benefit from immediate access to the waves without the inconvenience of long equipment treks, maximising their time in the water.
The school offers a variety of lesson options tailored to suit different needs, including standard group lessons, private one-on-one sessions, and family-friendly classes suitable for children as young as seven. Each lesson spans approximately two hours and encompasses comprehensive instruction on beach safety, equipment handling, and surfing techniques. All necessary equipment, such as full wetsuits and beginner-friendly foam surfboards, is provided. As a special touch, every participant receives a complimentary Holywell Bay School of Surf t-shirt to commemorate their experience
Holywell Bay itself is renowned for its expansive sandy beach, framed by dramatic cliffs and iconic offshore rock formations, offering consistent waves suitable for both novices and seasoned surfers. The school's prime location allows students to immerse themselves fully in the natural beauty of Cornwall's coastline while mastering the art of surfing. Whether you're taking your first steps on a surfboard or aiming to refine your skills, Holywell Bay School of Surf provides a welcoming and professional environment to embark on your surfing journey.
